My Honest Experience With Himalaya Clarina Anti-Acne Cream (and Why My Face Turned Red)
Dear people, if you've a complicated skin type like mine, who has a long history of acne, then the first thing you should do is know more about your skin. As with my skin, I can only say -
“Your skin can react differently and surprise you anytime so be prepared”
Years ago, while I was dealing with “nodular and cystic acne" - deep, painful, and leaves stubborn acne marks. After all my attempts, I decided to try ayurvedic medicine, which works very well for many people.
I went to an ayurvedic doctor. We discussed everything, and with some medications, he recommended Himalaya Clarina anti-acne cream. He also advised pairing this cream with fresh cucumber juice or rose water.
I got back home and was excited to try the clarina cream and I made a paste with cucumber juice and applied it all over my face.
The moment after I tried it started to feel like itching, I couldn't hold it longer, and I washed my face. It turned red, and I was scared like hell.
After some time, the redness was gone, but I didn't try it until I spoke to my doctor. Later on, I used it the correct way at spots without any dilution.
Here's a breakthrough on what went wrong -
➡️My skin barrier was damaged as I had nodular and cystic acne; hence, a broken skin barrier may cause even gentle ingredients to trigger reactions.
➡️The whole face application was a mistake as if I had a bunch of acne in one spot. I applied cream to the whole part, which caused a problem as it was a spot treatment cream.
➡️Cucumber juice needs to be patch test when the skin is reactive, as it may cause irritation.
After all this, we concluded on keeping the Himalaya clarina anti-acne cream on hold for some time and use it later till the skin gets relieved from irritation.
This is what I learned from the incident:-
✅Always patch test ingredients
✅Strengthen your skin barrier
✅Follow instructions properly
My review -
If your skin barrier couldn't even tolerate gentle ingredients then you first need to strengthen it. The Himalaya Clarina anti-acne cream experience was a lesson for me. It taught me not to overdo and listen to my skin.
If asked about trying it again? Then maybe once my barrier is stronger, I'll definitely give it a try this time, following proper instructions.
